Once a year, the Pennsylvania Soybean Promotion Board funds research projects designed to solve production problems and improve efficiency of Pennsylvania soybean farmers. An announcement is generally made in the fall, with research proposals due in January. Please check this website for updates.

RESEARCH PROPOSALS

Projects are considered according to the Board's Research Priority List. However, investigators are encouraged to submit proposals for other research that can expand profit opportunities for soybean farmers. All proposals must demonstrate benefits for soybean farmers.

Although the board’s interest, generally, in weighing the grant requests is focused on producing the crop and marketing it, researchers should not find that confining, said Mike Gerhart of Ephrata, past PSB chairman. "We encourage the broadest possible participation in the grant process," he said, "and we are always anxious to hear new and challenging ideas for growing, using or marketing our crop."
